Nho Quyen Centre History

History of the previous centre located at 26 Ngô Quyền, Phường Thắng Nhất, Vũng Tàu

In 1975 Trại Xã Hội Centre was built and managed by the Ministry of Social Services. It was located at Trần Bình Trọng Street. In 1990 the centre changed names to become Trung Tâm Nuôi Dưỡng Dạy Nghề. At this time the centre accommodated orphaned children and elderly who were poor and had no relatives. In 1992 an Assemblies of God Church from America funded a new centre to be built on these grounds. The newly built centre only accommodated orphaned and abandoned children. Elderly residents were relocated to another facility.

In January 2009 the centre came under the directorship of Mrs Lê Thị Trang Đài and the name changed to Trung Tâm Bảo Trợ Trẻ Em Vũng Tàu sharing the same name as the existing Vũng Tàu centre. The children at this centre merged with the children located at 1 Phan Bội Châu in April 2013 so that building of the new Trung Tâm Bảo Trợ Trẻ Em Vũng Tàu could commence.

The new centre Trung Tâm Bảo Trợ Trẻ Em Vũng Tàu (Centre for Social Protection of Children Vũng Tàu) located at 26 Ngô Quyền, Phường Thắng Nhất, Vũng Tàu opened in July 2015.
