Trung Tâm Bảo Trợ Em Vũng Tàu (the Centre for Social Protection of Children) operates from two locations in Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province in Vietnam: Thắng Nhất Ward in Vũng Tàu City, and in Long Hải town.
Centres for Social Protection of Children are state-run institutions under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) and the Ministry of Health (MOH). Their primary purpose is to provide residential facilities and care for children who have been abandoned.
The Long Hải Centre is a project of the Association Pour les’Enfants des Rizieres (APER) in collaboration with Vietnam Central Association of Victims of Agent Orange (VAVA) and the provincial People’s Committee.
The centres work with the provincial People’s Committee and Departments in providing care. They also work closely with a number of local and international humanitarian agencies and companies who raise and channel resources towards community projects and the financial viability of the centres.
